An excellent resource for elementary-aged kids who are interested in history. Lots of photos, illustration, and color keep my daughter interested. Written very well. Divided into decades. One of the best resources I have found for my daughter!

My kids needed a history book for their project and this fit the bill exactly, including an objective look at 9/11.

This fantastic book on American History is called a Children’s Encyclopedia, but it’s really for all ages. Get it for your grandchildren and spend hours with them learning everything from obscure details to familiar events. There is so much intriguing information here, and so many new perspectives on established facts, that you will return to this book over and over to refresh your mind and encourage your imagination. You can read it cover to cover, or, as I do, dip into random pages. It is wonderful to be excited about history all over again. Required reading for every American man, woman, and child.
